Don't Accept Imitations! SPP's been made aware of reels manufactured in China that look very much like our high-quality Feherguard line, but will not give you nearly the same performance - so such so that SPP will not sell these imported versions. We've noted discoloration and premature cracking in the plastic, excess sagging from the weight of the solar blanket (the aluminum tube is inferior), and bearing failure in the "roll-up and delivery" functions. Before you buy, we recommend you ask a few questions:

1. Where is the reel manufactured?
2. What happens when I need warranty protection?
3. Can I return the reel if I don't like the quality?
4. How about replacement parts over time? Will I be able to get them?

Our Rib-Lock Tube Systems (picture above and diagram left), provide for higher strength, easier turning, and facilitate assembly.

Wide Track Nylon Bearings
Our specially designed Wide Track Nylon Bearings allow for easy turning. Wide Track Bearings also provide extra stability for the ends.

Our Silver Guard Finish Anodized Tubes guard against corrosion and make sure the tubes maintain their attractive silver finish for years.

Polyethylene Reel Ends and Handles
Our foam molded High Density Polyethylene parts are strong and lightweight. Our structural foam is 2 to 5 times stronger than the same weight in steel. To maintain the Bright White finish we add Ultra Violet (UV) Inhibitors that protect against sun damage.

Why we use Polyethylene:
Good resistance to impact over wide temperature ranges -40oF to 180oF (-40oC to 90oC).
Resistant to a wide range of chemicals, most inorganic acids, and alkalis.
Good moisture resistance
